Optimus Pad becomes world's first LTE capable tablet

LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled its first LTE-capable tablet, the Optimus Pad LTE. Initially launching in Korea, LG has equipped the tablet with both LTE technology and True HD IPS display, the two features that have helped LG differentiate its latest smartphone, Optimus LTE, from the competition.The Optimus Pad LTE is powered by a Qualcomm 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and comes running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb). It also features the same True HD IPS technology that debuted on LG's Optimus LTE smartphone but with the 1280 x 720 pixel resolution now spread over 8.9-inches worth of display. It is also claimed to be the the world’s first tablet to support an SD memory card expandable up to 32GB.It measures 245 x 151.4 x 9.34 mm (9.64 x 5.96 x 0.36 in) and weighs 497 g .There’s also an 8-megapixel camera with flash on the back, capable of recording Full HD video, while a front-facing camera of 1.3 -megapixel serves for video calls.It also features Electronic Dictionary and GPS navigation system.IT has a Specific absorbtion rate of 0.666.
                                  

Along with these features, the Optimus Pad LTE offers easy-to-use controls and functions such as the Smart Movie Editor for editing pictures and videos more easily. Moreover, Web Duet allows for e-mailing, messaging and SNS sharing with search functions, and On-Screen Phone (OSP) ensures compatibility with LG smartphones.Its connectivity options consists of HDMI, USB and the usual bevy of WiFi, Bluetooth and sensors. It also has DLNA( Digital Living Network Alliance) streaming support.It is going to be released in Korea and its approximate cost might be US$744.
