Now-a-days, with increasing demand for smartphones, we can find the future of smartphones to come to a point of saturation. And perhaps, the only thing in a smartphone which can always see improvement is the battery life.
Now, Apple’s iPhones, iPads and iPods are about to get more of it in iOS 9. In iOS 9, apps and features have been optimized to reduce power consumption wherever possible to squeeze an extra hour of life. For example, with iOS 9 the iPhone will use its proximity and ambient light sensors to sense when it’s placed face down and keeps the display from turning on.
Apple has now also introduced the "Low Power Mode" in the all new operating system, iOS 9 which will increase the battery life by reducing performance and limiting network activity. This will be similar to the Power Saving Mode in Android where the background data is disabled, animations and brightness are reduced.

While Low Power Mode is new to Apple’s devices, several Android smartphones already come with similar features. Samsung's smartphones also come with the more enhanced "Ultra Power Saver Mode" which changes display to grayscale and changes the home screen to simple home screen with simple and most used application icons on it.
Apple's iOS 9 is only available to developers for now, but customers will be able to test it out during a public beta in July.
