4: This is the best part of Ubuntu and the most innovative part too. Connect the phone to a monitor and your phone turns into a full fledged Ubuntu PC running the Ubuntu for PC OS. Yes, it's true and is called the complete desktop convergence. So Ubuntu users need not have an additional CPU for them.
Apart from all that Canonical has set the minimum hardware specs for manufacturers wanting Ubuntu Phone for their products. The specs are 1.2 Ghz single core processor, 512 MB-1 GB of RAM and 4-8 GB of internal storage. No word on displays and screen size yet.
Above that Ubuntu Phone supports a variety of languages, most importantly HTML5. Also Canonical has got flexible plans for developers. Besides registration is free on Ubuntu for developer which can be a plus point considering that Android has a $25 one time payment fee. Many companies have declared their full support for Ubuntu such as chip manufacturer Qualcomm. Expect for other features coming as the days roll by as till now Ubuntu is in developer stage. By the end of 2013 you will see few Ubuntu powered smartphones in the market.
Many would be wrong that Ubuntu cannot stand out in the iOS-Android dominant market because while the iOS was dominant years back many thought the same still Android managed to gain market just for its sheer innovation. And the same is to be expected from Canonical's Ubuntu Phone.
