A thinking robot !! What is this thinking robot?What is it thinking ? and What can it do?Lets find the answer to these questions
Kawada Industries humanoid robot Hiro pours water into a cup as Tokyo Institute of Technology associate professor Osamu Hasegawa at his laboratory in Yokohama, suburban Tokyo has developed a system that allows robots to look around their environment and do research on the Internet, enabling them to "think" how best to solve a problem. His main aim was to build a bridge between the robots and the real world. Most of the existing robots are good at processing and performing a greater task for which they are pre-programmed to do but in today's world the new advancing technology has come up with a thinking robot which was unveiled recently by a Japanese scientist who threw a new technology to the advancing world and created a robot which has the ability to find its own task and do it itself and is not pre-programmed to do particular a task. So lets check out what it can do
The scientist has come up with an algorithm known as Self Organizing Incremental Neural Network (SOINN) which allows the robot to use their own knowledge and to find a solution ta problem and complete the task which they are told to do.It examines the environment and gathers the data it needs to organize the information and gives into a coherent set of instructions.For instance it the robot is said to serve water the robots figures out its action and completes its task.The SOINN machine when facing a task which is beyond is ability asks help stores the way of figuring out the task so that it can be used further in future.Before the robot accomplishes its task it has to browse in the internet what the thing looks like or what does it mean.The scientists are still trying to merge with the ability to create a machine which can work out how to perform a given task through online research.It can also filter out the unwanted or insignificant information which would confuse other robots.The process is quite similar to the people travelling in a train and talking to the strangers and staying away from them,or can identify an object under different lighting and various angles.Similarly the machine is able to filter out irrelevant result it finds on the web.The Scientist are also trying to use it ti control the traffic lights organically analyzing data from public monitors and accident reports.
So the Scientists are trying to make the robots as a part of the living world and its main aim is to make people realise that robots are also a part of this living world and it can be used in all fields and the world can be progressed more and more in this future advancing technology.
